An Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in Pleasanton, CA, operating with a Governing Board, a Medical Staff, and a corporate Home Office.
The Role
The company is seeking an experienced Surgery Center Administrator to lead all facility operations, financial performance, quality initiatives, and physician relationships at the ASC. The Administrator holds full operational and financial leadership of the facility and works closely with the Governing Board, Medical Staff, facility leadership, and the corporate Home Office to ensure consistent operations and sustainable performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily facility operations, including administrative, clinical support, and business functions
- Serve as liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, facility leadership, and the corporate Home Office
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, quality, and safety standards
- Develop and manage operating, staffing, and capital budgets
- Monitor financial performance and address operational risks
- Oversee staffing, employee performance management, and workforce planning
- Support physician relationships, credentialing processes, and medical staff coordination
- Manage vendor, service, and physician contracts
- Support quality improvement, infection control, and patient experience initiatives
- Participate in operational reviews and facility performance reporting
- Identify opportunities for service line development and operational improvement
Requirements
- 5-7 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience
- Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) leadership experience, or hospital surgical services leadership with ASC exposure (required)
- Experience managing physician relationships and/or physician recruitment
- P&L literacy: comfortable reviewing and understanding financial variances
- Bachelor's degree minimum (healthcare administration, business, clinical, or a related field)
- Experience with regulatory compliance and accreditation standards
- Budget development and management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field
- Prior ASC Administrator experience
- Governing Board or Medical Staff committee experience
- Experience with accreditation bodies (TJC, AAAHC, or similar)
- Service line development or expansion experience
