The Role
The Storeroom Attendant is an individual contributor positioned within a customer's site in Kohler, WI. The job covers daily receiving, stocking, issuing, and cycle counting of customer and company inventory, while keeping a professional, clean, and organized work environment. The primary function is to service and stock vending machines (training provided). The position requires driving between two sites about 15 minutes apart, 3-5 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Unload, receive, and put away incoming product, goods, tools, and equipment; unpack containers; check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices
- Sort, label, move, and store items on racks, shelves, or bins by size, style, or product code, arranging storage to make the best use of crib space
- Issue product, goods, tools, and equipment to site employees, and keep accurate records of issued and returned items
- Enter data into a database or computerized system to keep stock records current; document discrepancies and seek corrective action
- Request requisitions to replenish inventory; assist with inventory maintenance; perform cycle counts and prepare reports
- Inspect and measure tools and equipment for defects and wear, and report damage
- Prepare periodic or perpetual inventory of supplies and equipment, and deliver tools and equipment to work locations
- Investigate and locate lost or misplaced equipment or safety supplies; may repair, service, and lubricate tools and equipment
Requirements
- 3+ months of relevant experience and/or training; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
- Experience loading, unloading, picking, packing, or moving goods in a warehouse; forklift or cherry picker experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Basic computer proficiency; MS Office, and ideally Vista, Control, SX.e, or Prophet 21
- Basic math skills; strong communication and customer service skills
- Able to work in a team and stay self-motivated; attention to detail and a safety-minded approach
Physical Requirements and Safety
- Computer experience required (especially Microsoft Excel)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb occasionally
- Walking throughout the facility and on your feet about 6 hours a day in a fast-paced environment
- Steel or composite toe shoes are required (not supplied); eyewear and ear protection are supplied
