A life sciences and healthcare AI startup digitizing the immune system. It is a fast-growing biotech company supporting 30+ clinical trials, with a customer base of drug developers.
The Role
The company is looking for a Senior Associate, Finance to own the entire finance function end to end, from closing the books each month to building the production cost models that shape pricing and operating decisions across its customer base of drug developers. This person takes full ownership from the outgoing consulting CFO and operates as the company's sole finance hire, reporting directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the core finance function: monthly close, runway forecasts, and profitability reforecasts, managing a complete cutover from the outgoing consulting CFO
- Build and maintain a production cost model that shows the true cost of serving each drug developer customer
- Prepare board packages, investor updates, and fundraising materials
- Manage AP/AR and oversee the outsourced bookkeeping firm to ensure accuracy
- Expand into adjacent operations functions as the company scales, including supply forecasting, compensation modeling, and cap table management
Requirements
- Proven ability to build financial models from scratch (operating models, unit economics, margin analysis)
- Experience managing or supporting a month-end close process
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets modeling skills
- Comfortable working autonomously and hands-on as the sole finance hire, with no team to delegate to
- High attention to detail with numbers, invoices, and financial accuracy
- 0-5 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or a controller role

- Investment banking or PE analyst or associate (1-3 years)
- FP&A or controller at a stable, established company (for example Gilead, Northrop Grumman, or Blackrock Neurotech)
